Complaint Process
Following a medical consultant review, cases are either forwarded for dismissal if no deviations from the Medical Practice Act are found, or are forwarded for further action.
All medical consultant reports are reviewed by the Board’s Chief Medical Consultant. The cases that involve a statutory violation are then forwarded to a staff committee and are subsequently sent to the Board for final review.
Board members consist of 8 physicians of various specialties, 1 nurse, and 3 public members. Board members make the final decision on all cases sent for action.
